Heart Remains the Same
'What a long, strange trip it's been...' From straight ahead be-bop to the avant garde fringe, gigging with Roland Kirk and Don Ellis, concert at Carnegie Recital Hall, radio in Spain, TV in the US, years in the pop world including musical director for Mama Cass and Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, dozens of songs recorded by pop and country artists, throughout, the constant pull of melodic beauty. This CD was not meant to be a commercial project. Instead, it was intended as a love letter to the owner of my heart, and a tribute to love itself, in all it's guises. It deals with the joy, the pain, the tenderness, the heartbreak and the humor, of romance. The response has been overwhelming, hence this release. The songs are mostly standards, plus a few originals. The focus is on the vocals, but the instrumental solos are not to be missed.
