Need to Hear
Martin's Favor is a gospel/christian group dedicated to sharing hope and inspiration. The name 'Martin's Favor' comes from a prayer that the siblings mother use to pray everytime they would leave the house while growing up. The prayer was 'God give them favor as they go...' A very simple but powerful prayer. Martin's Favor is Elaine, Janine and Eric Martin. A self-contained group, Martin's Favor writes, produces and sings their own material as well as collaborates with other producers and songwriter/artists. Martin's Favor has managed to bring their attitude of triumph to their music. 'It is necessary to acknowledge that God is the reason for any of life's successes. It is also important to use a vehicle which best fits you to share this,' states Elaine Martin, the lead singer for the group. The jazz, gospel, and R&B influences all come together to create the 'vehicle' for the sound of Martin's Favor. These songs include messages of hope, praise and thankfulness for God's presence in their lives. Martin's Favor has had the privilege of doing several studio projects, including a deal with Motown Records. Several producers and labels including Sparrow, Sony Word, GospoCentric, Island Pictures and New Deal Distribution have recognized the music and songwriting of Martin's Favor. Recently, Martin's Favor has had the opportunity to be featured on many stages including NBC television-'Later' Show, KJLH Live Gospel show, as well as singing for and with such gospel legends as Tramaine Hawkins and Andrae Crouch. Eric Martin, writer for group, arranged 'Go Tell It' for the upcoming 'Call Me Claus' with Whoopi Goldberg and produced by Garth Brooks. Elaine will also be featured in this holiday movie as a singer. Martin's Favor has also written and performed the song 'On Christmas Morn' with MCA recording artist Chante Moore. The song appears on the 'My Christmas Album' featuring various artists from MCA and was also performed on the Soul Train Christmas Show by Ms. Moore and members of Martin's Favor.
