Following Friends to Fame
I began writing songs in 1991, signed my first publishing contract and had my first independent cut within one year. From that point on, I was hooked. Two former local boys (Bat McGrath & Don Potter) were a big influence in my general interest in music. I've followed their careers since the 60s & have watched them tackle and master rock and roll, folk, country, Christian and a little bit of jazz with Chuck Mangione. When a friend of mine asked why I had such an interest in McGrath and Potter, I questioned myself and ended up writing 'Following Friends to Fame'. Following Friends is a 44-page booklet that kind of outlines the path I took in keeping track of these guys in their ever-changing musical choices (also has 16 photos from the 60s (The Show Stoppers) up to the 90s. The 2-song CD included with the booklet contains the title cut (Following Friends to Fame) and The Writer, both sung by country artist William Ray.
