Way I Act
Debut CD from Portland area singer songwriter Matt Chambers. Matt has been writing songs for about 10 years and with a little help from some good friends has put ten of them on a CD with a complete full band sound. Track notes: - The Way I Act - I remember hestitantly playing this one at an open mic when it was first written. It went pretty well. Shortly thereafter I began to start thinking that I should make a record. - Starin' Out the Window - Written while living in the East End of Portland, Maine. It was the first song we finished during the recording process. Written around the same time as 'Sunday Morning.' - All Night Long - This was played a number of times at the Bramhall Pub in probably 2004 or 2005. Some of the players in there always nailed it. We did our best to match that energy level in the studio. - Juxtaposed - Pretty much the first song I ever wrote. Mike did a great job with this one. - Sunday Morning - I began writing this one at my brother's house (barn photo on front) after one of many long Saturday evenings there. I've always felt that the 3rd verse is one of the best segments I've ever written. - Rollin' On Home - This was the song we struggled the most with in the studio. Mike absolutely nails the solo. - 59 Ways - I began writing this one a LONG time ago - definitely before the 2001 date given in the liner notes. It was one of those half written songs - until the ending showed up one day. - MIllenium Blues - I remember writing this around the time of the disputed 2000-01 presidential election. The 'intern in the White House' line made a lot more sense then. - By My Side - Probably my favorite song on the album. I initially wrote this as a Valentine to my then girlfriend. This version is a long way from the 'guy and his guitar' sound that day. - To Be A Man - This was the 'two guys playing guitar together' sound that I had originally envisioned for many of these songs.
