East Texas duo May Day bring you honest acoustic music recorded as if Jim Day and James Macon were playing in your living room. The duo combine folk, country, rock and pop with an emphasis on vocal harmonies. May Day was formed in December of 2002 when the two were brought together to split a weekly gig at the the Memphis Grill in Longview,Texas. The weekly show helped shape the duo\'s sound and quickly led to further bookings and their self titled debut CD in the spring of 2003. Jim Day is a veteran musician of East Texas performing with may local artists in a variety of gigs from R&B to country. Jim brings the rock and pop aspect to May Day with influences like Sting,Steely Dan,Genesis and Elvis Costello. Jim released his first solo album \'In My Head\' in 2008 also available on CD Baby. James Macon has been playing solo gigs for years until hooking up with Jim for May Day. Macon,as he is known, brings the country and folk sound to May Day. Macon was exposed early in life to many great artists like James Taylor, Hank Williams, Paul Simon, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. He wrote \'Old Jim Croce Song\' about his all-time favorite artist, cleverly incorporating Croce\'s song titles in the lyrics.
