Richard Mathes at age 24; 6'1', 242 pounds: Originally from Laurel Mississippi, now living in Denver Colorado... Mdz is poised to conquer the music world. Richard Mathes / Mdz: The Bio I started writing and performing with a few friends the summer before my freshman year of high school. During the next four years, our abilities started to gain the attention of those around us. Our gift of flow caught the ear of Jo Keel, owner of the Eulipians Cultural Theater in Denver. She liked our skills enough to let us open for all the shows hosted at the theater. At the same time our school football team was unbeatable and we were it's stars. We all hoped to pursue careers as football players and ended up playing for different colleges. I returned to Denver to complete my education at the Denver Business College. I would always be a businessman, but making music became my dream. Back in Denver, I reunited with old friends who shared the same music passions. We were determined to make a place for ourselves in the music industry. We returned to work at the Eulipians Cultural Theater. In exchange for setting up for and cleaning up after events, passing out flyers, and other labor, we were allowed to perform as the opening act for each show. In the process, we were able to meet and network with other musicians and learn some of the ins and outs of the business. We were given a spot in the theatre basement where we operated a recording studio. As we practiced, we learned how to master the mic and win the crowd. Just as we were becoming the talk of the town, though, the building was sold and once again we went our separate ways. With the experience and knowledge I had gained, I created my own music production company Bowa Music. My business proudly boasts all the necessary equipment for quality music production: talented engineers, several mixing boards, computers with all the latest music software and graphic design programs, sound and vocal compressors, CD printers, excellent microphones, and a sophisticated data system. The first single created and released by Bowa Music has been very successful. 'Let's Count this Paper' can be found on the shelves of music stores throughout Colorado, including Media Play and Independent Records. Street sales for 'Let's Count this Paper' have totaled more than 1000 copies in states including CA, VA, CO, AL, IL, GA, and TX. The newest single released, 'Big Bodyz (remix)' has future platinum hit written all over it. Over 2500 copies have been sold on the streets and in Metro Area music stores since it's release late-spring, 2003. My freshly released GRIND album is quickly gaining stripes throughout the Mid-West and the South... and not stoppin' there! I have earned my engineer's certification through 3rd shiph studio in Denver. I also ran Saturday nights at Club Cristobals in Aurora, CO - the hottest local hip-hop spot in the Metro Area. I plan to blow open the doors to this wide-world of music with a new bi-coastal sound. Bowa Music represents, and will present, Colorado's true talent.
