'Space Invaders proved so addictive that it not only inaugurated an entire video game paradigm, it caused a nationwide coin shortage in Japan' _Chris Green If a band becomes what it is as a result of the combination of band member experiences, listener perceptions, and a projected presence of all involved, Mel makes sense. It is, however, this combination which lends Mel to come off a bit as an enigma. Mel was bred out of ambition and curiosity. Curiosity was dominant in the early years spanning back to 2002. Quickly, ambition started to set in; an album was produced and followed by a single show.. After this stage of infancy, Kyle and the Robot entered to solidify Mel into what it is today. The Robot, which writes no songs but influences all of them, doesn't come up with the music but affects every sound produced. Having the Robot in our set-up allows the band to be as original as it wants without having to compromise it's sound. Mel is seemingly a studio band to it's core as songs all start in the studio and when Mel performs, it takes the studio with it. Ambition and curiosity are now happily married as Mel continues on it's path, producing an experience that hits the senses. Join the collective, welcome to Mel.
