Biography of Melanie R. Hill As a young child, Melanie relished musicality. As an adolescent, she knew of God's plans of success He envisaged for her life. At the age of four, Melanie noticed her sister, Crystal Hill McKenzie, playing the violin during a private music lesson. She had yet to realize that playing the violin would be among her most adored penchants. From the early years of learning the craft of the violin to 20 years of musical experience, Melanie has graced local and national stages with her God-given talent. Melanie was a two-time first place winner on 'Showtime at the Apollo' at the Apollo Theater in New York City. She was one of six finalists for the 'Showtime at the Apollo' 2008 Finale. Melanie has performed for 'Dr. Bobby Jones' Gospel Hour' on BET, MegaFest 2006, NAACP's 97th Annual Convention, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and many other places. She has performed live at the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center for the Los Angeles Lakers and the AFL-CIO, respectively. In 2009, Melanie's performance on 'The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors' aired on TV One. Melanie has graced stages with contemporary Gospel music and her composed version of the National Anthem. Coupled with her musical gift, Melanie is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a major in English and a minor in Spanish. Along with her blessings, Melanie remains focused upon a single endeavor: to minister to the hearts of people with God's enlightening and spiritually-saturated music. Philippians 4:6-8.
