Melanie Koltes is a singer/songwriter who has produced and released her first contemporary/pop musical compact disc, Faces. The CD is described as 'A celebration of life, of people, of love...' because it is comprised of a compilation of 13 original 'love' songs, based on real people, of all ages. Included with the CD is a miniature photo album and stories about the people for which the songs were written. The emotional content in the songs has caused some people to describe this CD as a musical 'Chicken Soup for the Soul.' Examples include: 'Your Love Has Changed Me,' a love song written especially for her sister's wedding. The song reflects the excitement and happiness new love brings to one's life. 'Southern Breeze' is a fast-moving song about a couple who built a yacht and sailed the Gulf of Mexico. 'Talking about Nothing' is a humorous song about the trouble two women get into while talking on the telephone. Many of the songs will touch your heart but the tear-jerker of the CD is 'I'm Here,' a song about the enduring love and faith of a family in the face of a difficult trial. Melanie has composed the music, written the lyrics, orchestrated the music on her synthesizer, and recorded her vocals at her own recording studio. She has played piano and composed music for the past 17 years. 'Through the years, I have written and performed songs for family, friends, college events, and church functions. People would request copies of these songs on CD or tape, so I knew I would one day try to produce something.' Melanie adds, 'After the September 11 terrorist attack, I was moved to write several additional songs about family and love relationships. Therefore, the idea for this particular CD was born.' The CD, Faces, is an appropriate gift for a loved one, especially for anybody getting married, having a baby, or celebrating an anniversary. People will find the CD easy to listen to, heartwarming, and enjoyable.
