Melle was in college studying to be a war reporter in the middle east when she started writing music. When friends and family heard what she had written, they convinced her music was the way to go. She dropped out of college her junior year and began persuing music. Singer-songwriter Melle Augustine is a little folk, a Little Rock, a little blues, and a lotta soul. Heavily influenced by James Taylor and all things Motown her songs are as unique as the voice she delivers them with. Melle's music is inspired by her childhood in Northern Michigan and her adventures in the Blue Ridge Mountain Region of the Carolinas - which she now calls home.
