Breathe on Me
Melvin James Robinson Jr. is the son of Melvin Robinson Sr. and Jacqueline Robinson. He is a native of Long Island, New York who was raised in church and who has a passion for the things of God. From 1985 - 1993 Melvin toured around the world with one of Long Island's premier choirs, Mary L. Sharpe and the Voices of Hope from Central Islip, NY where they performed at venues such as the McDonald Gospel Festival held at Carnegie Hall with Timothy Wright and Yolanda Adams. They also performed at Queens College Gospel Festival with a guest appearance by Della Reese and many others. In 1994, this humble and anointed servant became Minister of Music at St. Paul Community Church in Riverhead under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Glenwood Morris. In the year 2001, he completed his undergraduate studies at L.I.U C.W. Post campus of Brookville, NY with a B.F.A in music education. Here he performed in many bands and orchestras and accompanied many groups and choirs throughout the tri-state area. In 2004, he was ordained as Elder by Pastor Glenwood Morris. In 2005, he ministered in praise and worship at Hampton University Minister's Conference in Hampton, Virginia where he was introduced to Bishop Ernestine C. Reems Dickerson. From that meeting, he was invited to minister in song in July 2006 at the Center of Hope Community Church in Oakland, California for Bishop Dickerson's Pentecostal Gathering Conference which included Bishop Darrell Hines, Dr. Wanda Turner, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Pastor Naida Parsons, Pastor Stephanie Bond, and Pastor Stephen King. He has also been involved with the New Gospel Artist Showcase with Evangelist Samantha Holmes Elliott and Winter Break Conference and Summer Harvest with Pastor E. Edward Robinson. In 2008, he was elevated to the Asst. Pastor position of St. Paul Community Church by Pastor Glenwood Morris. He is currently the founder of Radical Praise Evangelistic Ministries with his anointed wife, Shelley. They have a 19 yr old daughter, Shakyra and a 14 yr old son Clavante. His ultimate goal in life is to save the lost, touch the lives of people through his worship style of music and to be all God called him to be.
