Exit Wounds An American Tragedy
Michael is a Los Angeles based recording artist with a musical background in as diverse styles as Roots Rock, Punk Rock, Blues and Country. His talents as a drummer were utilized by the Normals, who ruled the New Orleans punk rock scene in the late 1970's. Michael's multiple abilities as a drummer, bassist, guitarist and singer/songwriter were employed by many musical projects in Los Angeles during the 1980's and 1990's. In addition to his personal projects, Michael has performed either onstage on in the studio with members of Jethro Tull, The Heartbreakers, The Dead Boys, Levi and the Rockcats, Riders of the Purple Sage, and The Motels. Exit Wounds (An American Tragedy) is Michael's response to the 9-11 attack upon the U.S by Al Qaida. This work portrays the multitude of emotions/feelings felt by one or more people on or about September 11. Every song reflects a specific emotion. The lyrical and musical styles of each song were chosen to reflect a particular emotion. All musical styles employed in this work are musical styles with roots in American history. This recording is intended as a musical and artistic statement. In this spirit, it's dedicated to each and every family who lost a loved one as a result of the terrorist attacks upon the Unites States of America on September 11, 2001.
