Codgers Cossacks & Cowboy Poets
Yeah, it's THE RED ALBUM - which is just the designer's personal color preference, we guess, so don't go thinking this is some kinda commie propaganda disc. There's plenty of red, white AND blue on the inside. CC&CP is the third installment of tunes from the aged, but not infirm, group that begs the musical world to give consideration to a writing and recording partnership that never tours, has never even seen, much less signed a contract with the majors OR the minors, regards the term 'day job' as ridiculously redundant, and gathers together at regular intervals to commit to silicon songs that are well thought out and rejuvenating. Frankly, I've run out of clever style amalgamations to impress your deviously metaphorical minds. Suffice it to say that we are four East Tennesseeans (and a coupla highly capable and experienced, not to mention charitable sidemen/collaborators) who have absorbed and digested every musical message thrown at us locally while taking the time for more than a few musical side trips to grok the ways of the wider world. So, whut DO we sound like? Much of it rocks, and some of it Country Rocks, and some of it touches on Jazz, Pop and Latin. Like those constantly working corporate guys, we are products of our influences, some of them obvious, some not so obvious. Unlike many of them, we're not looking to conquer the world, just to reach a few corners of it. This is our short-wave broadcast sent out scatter-shot on a limited but pure frequency. We think we deserve a listen.
