The Mighty Rockets travel at speed, as debut album 'Head's Up' will prove. A mere 7 months after forming, and the band have several gigs and a 13 track long player under their belts. With a four piece line-up of drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, the sound is folk rock with hints of just about everything else thrown in. Drummer Jim Easton and bassist Gordon Pitcairn form a formidable rhythm section, and the acoustic finger picking and rhythmic electric playing of Tommy and Jane Ewing add the colour. Recorded at Urban Studios in Glasgow by resident engineer Simon Johnston, the album has a stripped down, live feel, which let's the songs do the talking. With writing credits shared equally by Tommy and Jane, the result is an ecclectic collection of songs which might just be the most individual album you'll hear all year.
