Songs I Heard at the Fair
'Songs I Heard at the Fair' is Mike Esterheld's debut album. From it's contemplative opening track (inspired by a trip to the small Virginia town of Tom's Brook) to it's rollicking closing number (inspired by a trip to the local Super Wally World), the album is filled with stories drawn from many roads around the country and trips across the water. There are tales of love and loss, but also sly commentaries on Aristotelian metaphysics, and a song about a guy who can't find any politically correct way to express his feelings until he resorts to a bluesy scat solo. Sometimes life feels an awful lot like a crazy trip to the fair. These are some of the songs heard on the air.
