We're Both Hot & You're Tired
Mike Murphy was found at age 10 skipping stones on a small stream in the heavily wooded outskirts of Anytown, USA. Not knowing where he came from, his parents took him in and raised him as their own. In school, he was a moderate student, studying physics, calculus and art. His true passion though was that of the audible arts. When he picked up a guitar, Mike found something inside of him that he never knew existed. It took him back to the deepest part of the woods - It took him to his soul. Before long, Mike found his own voice through song. His unarguably original lyrical style brings a hint of innocence and truth into the drowning corporate world in which we live. Following two extremely underground releases, Current Condition: you're still fooling yourself (2003) and Live in the Garden (2004), Mike Murphy's first official release, "we're both hot and you're tired", shows notable maturity. These 7 songs are cut down to their core and recorded in such a way that makes the audience feel as if they are living inside every song. Through a simplistic musical style and memorable lyrics, Mike brings a new point of view to the table that is the indie music scene.
