Few Years from Now
"For the past decade, members of Minneapolis, 1989 shared the stage with each other through numerous concerts and other musical projects in the west-central counties of Minnesota. The migration to the Twin Cities brought the members together on the atlas. The conjunction of points provided them the time to experiment with other bands together. After a stint with the Bribe the Ghost project, members Chris Wilson and Michael Gunvalson created what is Minneapolis, 1989 in the winter of 08'. They retrofitted 8 tracks from Bribe and invited friend Taylor Deihl to collaborate on the album. Ben Wilson (brother to Chris), And Jesse Baker joined the band shortly after the album was recorded. The outcome of these parallel biographies is a band that represents what was and will be for many years to come for these long-time friends. The product is a sound transparent to this history- rich with mature tones and youthful melodies . The forthcoming album, "A few years from now," is due for a late-winter release. The album does not pretend to be polly anna, it is journal to the journeys that all of these fellas have taken to find the spot where they are. Wilson weaves lyrics through overlying melodies planted at the beginning of each song, replicated by keys, vox, and guitars up to a climax point to the stride of Gunvalsons' beats. The tracks are arranged intuitively and sound good even on shuffle. T.W. Walsh (Pedro the Lion, the Soft Drugs) mixed/mastered the album."
