Life in Colour
Hitting the stage for the first time when he was 6 years old, Mitch Barrington is no stranger to the spotlight. Influenced by the likes of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Goo Goo Dolls and Pete Murray, he has been writing songs since the age of 12. However, it wasn't until late High School that Mitch decided he was ready to record a CD. At 17 years old, in the September holidays of 2008, he spent 10 days in Brisbane at the James North Production Studio tracking his Debut EP 'Life in Colour'. This was a huge learning experience for mitch and he came out of it as a much more confident musician. Having saved for years to finance the recording himself, Mitch put a huge amount of effort into his first CD and each song tells of a different side of him. Love, Determination, Hope, Fun and Relaxation are all emotions experienced in the 6 tracks of 'Life in Colour'. After entering and winning Sea FM's 'Battle of the Bands' Competition in early 2009, Mitch was selected by Shannon Noll to open his concert at the Moncrieff Theatre with a mixture of songs from the 'Life in Colour' EP and a handful of newly written tracks. Playing to a full house, with a profesional sound team and stage crew at hand, was a new and exciting experience for Mitch and his band. In the future he hopes to have as much involvement in the profesional music industry as possible but for now Mitch's unique lyrics and expressive musical arrangements are what makes this young musician stand out.
