Molly Magdalain is a freak . . . in the best possible sense. After growing up in Kansas City, Magdalain attended college in Colorado and then moved to Nashville for a few years before moving to New York City in 2004. She often refers to 'the road' as a metaphor for life and she is most certainly making her own way in the world. Schooled in the art of philosophy and music, and influenced by great writers such as Jack Kerouac, Magdalain believes that every art form influences everything else. She is concerned with the inter-connectedness of life - the way people affect each other and the way everything you say, do, think, and feel actually creates your world. Magdalain is an activist for important global issues such as global warming, recycling and the corrupt actions of multi-national corporations. She also runs a jewelry store in New York City called StarStrings by Molly Magdalain where almost all of the products are made with recycled materials such as guitar string and other random elements. She ascribes great meaning to the items we buy and wear (and the companies we buy these things from!) and strives to help amplify ones personal power with her unique jewelry art. Magdalain describes her music as something similar to Carole King, Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell. She has had a life long romance with music and has been writing songs and playing instruments since the age of 6. She is an energy healer and the highest level of Reiki Master - she loves yoga - movies - and discovering great music. She has won many awards for her songwriting and recently released her first full length album - The Open Road.
