My Enemy Death
My Enemy Death formed in August 2003 to reflect on life and loss and to make a record that represented the full spectrum of their collective life experience. Guitarist Peter Distefano, founding member and songwriter for the hard-hitting and hugely popular nineties alternative band Porno For Pyros conceptualized the project together with singer/songwriter/producer Michael Blue (15mg, The Offspring, Five for Fighting). Michael invited multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Justin Knox (I Hate Kate, The Groove Syndicate) to play bass and he in turn brought long time friend, keyboardist Corby Jordan of the cutting edge Dallas band The Love Remote. The album highlights these talented artists working at the peak of their individual prowess, featuring 3 lead vocalists and a truly collaborative song writing and production process. The music is all at once ambient and driving, desperate and uplifting, stark and wildly colorful. It is precisely the combination of the diverse musical backgrounds of these four souls and their individual bouts with addition, disease and death that has driven them to this bold and uninhibited musical expression. The songs are powerful manifestations of their collective personality.
