Product Notes

Tupendane is Swahili for "let's love one another", which is the mission and message that fuels my career as a teaching artist. This album is an exciting collaboration with many of my colleagues, who have assisted me in my outreach to schoolchildren over the years, including: guitarists and vocalists Tracey Eldridge and Rachel Cross, and percussionists Hoppy Hopkins, Jaqui MacMillan and Jeremy Hesford (who also served as assistant producer on the album). The album also features The Tapiokans, a group of 6th grade choral students under the direction of Kelley Phillips, who also contributed the sounds of her beautiful voice on a couple of tunes. A portion of the sales of this album are donated to DREAM CHANGE, a world wide grass roots movement of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds dedicated to shifting consciousness and promoting sustainable lifestyles for the individual and global community. 'The world is as you dream it'. And please check out the music on CD Baby of some of my friends listed above.
