Product Notes

Nakagawa Reed is a collaboration between Satoru Nakagawa from Tokyo and Doug Reed from Philadelphia, backed by some fantastic musicians from Toronto. It's a 'Roots-Rock' CD that includes Blues,Country,Zydeco, and even African Pop,with a tip of the hat to Los Lobos,The Band and Grateful Dead. After seeing Bruce Springsteen from the last row of the Tokyodome,Satoru Nakagawa knew what he wanted to do.Although he knew very little English,he packed his bags and moved to Louisiana to soak up as much of the American 'Roots' catalog as he could find. Then he attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston where he formed Tokyo Tramps,an all-Japanese band that currently plays up and down the East Coast. He quickly befriended Doug who shared similar tastes in music, and together they have released this hidden gem. Fellow Berklee alum Sean Baillie owns Electric Machine Studios in Toronto, and gathered some of the Best Local in Toronto musicians to help out with Pedal Steel, accordion,Sax etc...,and boy did they deliver. People who like the same bands they do are very impressed with the CD,so if this style is up your alley, spend a few minutes listening to the music clips, you might be very surprised.
