Nancy Nishihira is a singer/songwriter/lyricist/guitarist and multimedia artist based in Metro Detroit. Her debut album, 'a single breath' was originally released in 2001 and was re-released in 2006. She is currently working on her second album and working concurrently on her first album as the lead songwriter for the experimental band Tanaka Style. More recently, her multimedia art installation entitled 'a thousand cranes' was exhibited at Oakland University. She has conducted independent research as a student of Japanese studies in Kyoto, Osaka, and Okinawa, Japan and is bilingual in Japanese.
