Future Is Now
From sunny Santa Cruz to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Neil Laurence has inspired many with his joyful spirit and zest for life. Living in Berkeley during the turbulent 60's, he performed with 12 string guitar and harmonica as a peace-activist folk-singing troubadour in the era of the Beatles, entertaining audiences with original songs in cities and ski resorts of the west. While collaborating with the legendary Charlie Greene - producer of Sonny and Cher, Buffalo Springfield and Dr John - and playing with the Wailers, Kris Kristofferson and Booker T Jones, studio doors opened with top musicians and producers of the day. But then - after a serious bicycle accident derailed a Hollywood songwriting future, Neil slowly and rigorously regained his strength to become a popular California fitness and aerobics instructor - and hung up his guitar. Years and careers pass, and as the new millennium arrives he awakens to discover something is missing - and deep feelings propel him inward to reconnect with his love of music. Soon thereafter, he discovers the ukulele - and we fast-forward to the fall of 2007 when at the young age of 65 in Asheville NC, he records the magical album 'Future Is Now' with producer Chris Cates and the band Heartstar 7. Driven by soothing rhythms of ukulele and guitar - these passionate, modern pop-rock songs are engaging works of art and tasty vignettes of life to pleasure the senses. Colorful, romantic tunes stimulate through haunting melodies and sensual lyrics - from bedrooms to beaches, mountain streams to outer space. Experience for yourself this beautiful collection of heartfelt songs, and feel these authentic portraits of life touch your soul. Created and sung by an artist who truly lives the adventure!
