Part of the Canadian "Prairie Gothic" scene, the Nether Legion began creating their sonic signature in 1996 with their first full album "Highlevel 222". The trio was heavily influenced by a broad range of artists. From Joy Division to Jimi Hendrix, Philip Glass to the Flamingos, you never knew what you might hear on stage. The consistency however was an underlying 'twilight mood' which set the stage for the group and propelled them into underground prairie gothic status. The music and lyrics are heavily inspired by the group's actual outdoor experiences wandering abandoned Drive-In theatres in the lonely dusty country and by their obsessive midnight trekking into dark forests and old bridges. You'd rarely find them inside with the exception of their spell binding live shows. The Nether Legion truly found a way to bring your instincts out. The group mainly played shows in Edmonton Alberta, Vancouver British Columbia and Toronto Ontario. They were featured on Canadian indie radio and played heavily in the local clubs. To this day they are still relatively unknown. The Nether Legion happily remain privately yours.
