Offbeats play original songs with rock, ska, reggae, funk and blues influences. Since forming in 1987, Offbeats have continued to produce thought-provoking tunes with infectious grooves and tight arrangements, playing around the San Francisco Bay Area for two decades. Offbeats three founding members, all songwriters, provide distinctive lyrical content to complement the dance-friendly music which features Jay Kadis on guitar and vocals, Doug McLean on keyboards and vocals, Tim Boomer on bass and vocals and drummer Darrell Preece. Rock'n Ska is Offbeats' second CD, following 'Offbeats' released in 1993. Drummer Darrell Preece adds a strong rock beat to the band's ska, funk and reggae influences. Rock'n Ska benefits from improvements in technical production and showcases the further development of the band's offbeat music and lyrics.
