Diverse. Talented. Ambitious. Driven. Four words often misused in today's culture. When used to describe the Kenosha-based band, The Other Side, however, they only begin to scratch the surface. Although each member joined the band for different reasons, it is obvious that they remain for one; these four people want to create and perform music that inspires action. 1996 marked the emergence of The Other Side as a hard rockin' and even harder working band. Within two short years, their intense live shows, thought-provoking lyrics and marketing savvy caught the interest of many industry professionals; especially those with the authority to book them at several of the top clubs and festivals in the area. The band's first full-length project, 'Elemental,' was released in September 2000. The Other Side attributes it's nearly two years of studio work, their necessary increase in personnel and, proverbial monetary constraints as reasons for the strength and resilience of the finished recording. In 2002, wiser to the music business and more mature personally, The Other Side began work on their second studio-recorded project, 'The Other Side.' Although they've lightened their sound for this recording, the band remained committed to writing lyrics and melodies that were vibrant yet edgy. To celebrate the release and their new sound, the band is treating their fans to an explosive CD Release Party at Shank Hall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 7. Through their six-year evolution, this group of four diverse musicians has steadily created music that is accessible and heartfelt. Their bold determination and unrestricted form continually offers audiences the same variety of melody, genre, and live energy they've come to expect.
