Pastor bennie t. Davis sr. Pastor davis is the eldest child of bobbie j. Davis and the late daniel thomas jr. He is the father of three children. Pastor davis finished his schooling in marion school district i. He graduated from marion high school in 1987. Upon graduation, he went on to further his education at voorhees college. He obtained his bachelors of science degree in criminal justice in 1992. In 2000, he cocntinued his education at cathedral bible college and obtained his masters degree in christain education. He said why stop there and in 2005, received his doctoral degree in christian education. He is currently an instructor for cathedral bible college. He continues to further his education with grace tabernacle bible college pursuing his masters degree in theology. In september 1997, god called him to bring the word of god to every man, woman, boy and girl. In november 1997, he started a youth/adult center. He started the center because of the different problems and situations that he encountered and had to endure. He wanted people to know that he was not the sma man that he used to be. This is how he came up with the name "i'm not that way anymore youth/adult center". The purpose of the center was to help young people find jobs, educational referrals for ged, housing, and things to help them become self-sufficient and productive citizens of marion county. He believes through christ jesus that he would be able to help every person that comes through the center regardless of sex, crime, religion, and their status that society has put on them. His theme is "lifting and lending a helping hand. " in 1994, he jointed power outreach cathedral of faith ministry, where dr. William young jr. Is the pastor. October 2000, he joined pleasant grove baptist church, where dr. A. C. Robinson is the pastor. In 2000, rev. Dr. Bennie t. Davis sr. Became a licensed minister. In 2001, he was ordained. Greater christ temple was birthed throuhgh "i'm not that way anymore youth/adult center in 2000. The center fed into the church and the church fed into the center to support each other financially until the church was abele to stand on it's own. Since the start of the church and the center, he has been able to make an impact on the crime rate through helping the marion city police department, sheriff's department, department of juvenile justice, and the adult probation/parole and pardon services. Pastor davis currently serves on many boards throughout marion county. He is serving on several committes for school district 7. He is over the pre-trail intervention communty service program through the solicitors office. He is a licensed mentor for the state of sc. He is an instructor of strong sons in which he works on developing the young men of marion county into self-suffiecient adults. He serves on the truancy council for marion school districts. His future goal is to one-day run for mayor of marion county. Reverend dr. Bennie t. Davis sr. 's favorite quote is "in order to guarantee success in life you must act as if it is impossible to fail. " he is the owner of his own tele-marketing business (fortune hi-tech marketing). He enjoys going around sharing with people how they can increase their financial wealth. He is also currently the chaplin for palmer work release center in florence, South Carolina.
