Auto Repair EP
In a world where pop fans are afraid of indy and indy fans are turned off by pop music, Paul Nagi stands holding the olive branch between the blue collar sensibility and bohemian ideals. With an original musical sound that bridges the gap between pop British new wave and indie rock genres, and vocals that are reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and Morrisey, Paul continues to win over the hearts of true music fans. Lyrics that are heartfelt and vividly succinct evoke a time in music when words had meaning. Memorable melodies leave songs sticking with you for days. It has been four years since Paul Nagi left his home of New York City, to head west. The move across country away from friends and family has inspired some one hundred songs written over that time period. In the last two years, he has spent countless hours honing his voice (with his vocal coach), performance, and songwriting skills, emerging as a powerful word smith. . In March 2006, after hundreds of solo performances, Paul put together a band. Finding seasoned players, was the last and most important part of his development. After just one performance, Paul and his band, went from playing the alterknit lounge at the knitting factory, to it's main stage. The show garnered the respect of a well known booker. Following this performance, they played the main stage at the Key Club. Soon after he was invited to play the famed Sin-E in New York's lower east side, establishing him in his home town as an upcoming voice to be heard. This continuous upward movement attained Paul independent finance for his first, three song ep, entitled, 'Auto Repair', which was released in December 2006 at a private show in Silver lake. Without the help of management or agents, Paul continues to make huge leaps in the industry, already appearing on UCLA radio and songs played on Santa Monica College radio. What you are hearing is from his self realeased Ep.
