Product Notes

Our newest record. Really took a toll on us. But, we're all very proud of it and we hope you enjoy these thirteen new tracks about love, sex, revenge and desire. The Perverts, Upskirting RELEASED: 2005, independently released GENRE: Punk The Perverts, a local Eugene band, have the punk rock humor thing down pat, and they've proved it with UpSkirting, an arguably conceptual album that definitely lives up to the band's name. Most, if not all, of the tracks are about sex or other aspects of the mating ritual and include song titles such as 'Glory Hole' and 'Dirty Mind.' The music is bouncy and upbeat, but many of the songs sound eerily alike. And while the album title and lyrical subject matter are a clever, humorous play on the band's name, don't pay too much attention to the lyrics. While certain sections are chuckle-worthy, some are painfully generic and rife with clichés. This effort is fun and danceable, but it takes more than a concept to make a great album. These songs probably make a better live show than an album, and unfortunately, it shows. - Sara Brickner 06/17/2005 Those prolific Perverts put out another CD POP NOTES By Carolyn Lamberson The Register-Guard The Perverts have been busy in the past two years. Since forming in March 2003, the Eugene punk trio has released an EP, and now two full-length albums. 'Porn on the Cob,' released in October 2003, was the band's full-length debut. Now, Rob Jacobs (guitar and vocals), Kasey Rajkovic (drums and vocals) and Nate Sampson (bass) are ready to unleash a new collection of rockin' punk tunes about - what else - sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. According to the band's publicity material, the Perverts liken themselves to '70s-era punk - the Ramones, the Sex Pistols and early Clash. The new record, 'Upskirting,' features 13 original - and catchy - songs that reflect those influences. The Pervs certainly aren't afraid of a pop hook, especially on songs such as 'I Don't Get It,' 'I Don't Care' and 'Infected.' 'Big Bad Mike' has a Kings of Leon-esque riff. (Or maybe the Kings' 'Molly's Chambers' has a Perverts-esque riff.)
