His childhood was spent on ranches and around the music business due to his aunt being married to George Jones saxophone player. He was always around folks like Willie Nelson, Larry Butler, Merle Haggard,G ary Stewart, Johnny Paycheck, David Allen Coe, and Waylon to name a few.
