Pete Rooke embodies the acoustic hooks of The Jayhawks, the lyrical honesty of Ryan Adams, and the experimental curiosity of Wilco. A native of Pennsylvania, Rooke feels most at home on stage with his band or on solo acoustic sets, playing for crowds on the college and club circuit all over the east coast. Rooke has opened for national recording artists such as Joseph Arthur, Peter Case, and Braddigan from Dispatch. From love songs to protest songs, he delivers Folk-inspired Rock with equal parts passion and wit. Following the 2003 independent release of his first album, 'The Backyard Sessions', Rooke went straight to work laying tracks for 'Novelty Item', a collection of songs written and recorded while in residence at the Contemporary Music Center on Martha's Vineyard.
