Act of Worship
Peter Rogers is known by many for his magnificent and powerfully moving performances. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance from Northern Illinois University. Peter's ministry experience includes performing extensively as a concert pianist with his identical twin brother Paul as a duo-piano team in over a dozen states. Together, they released a CD recording of their piano arrangements entitled 'Awesome God', which has been broadcast nationally on the Moody radio network. He has won numerous awards, including first prize in the Richmond Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. He was a finalist in the Ellis National Duo-Piano Competition and in the StarSong National New Artist Search. His performances have been featured on South Carolina Public Television, TV38 in Chicago, and The 700 Club TV program. He has appeared as a guest soloist with the Hilton Head Symphony, Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Youth Symphony, and the York River Symphony Orchestra. In recent years, Peter's interests have led him to a career in the corporate world. He is currently employed as a senior level underwriter for a major life insurance company. Peter is blessed to be married to Lynn, and they have three wonderful children ages 8, 7, and 4. Lynn is quite busy as she homeschools the children. They believe their children are a gift entrusted to them by God. Peter's classical training has given him a unique ability to connect with his audience through a combination of technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. He strongly believes that music is a language that can open the heart and make it receptive to the truth of God. The purpose of his concert ministry is to communicate that truth and encourage people in matters of faith. ********************************************* 'Music is a heart language - something that can open up even the most guarded & calloused heart. It can stir up emotion and be used by God to prepare the soul for the transforming power of the truth of His Word. Succintly put, THIS is the purpose of my music.' -Peter Rogers.
