Product Notes

Pi Theta Pi- In The Beginning: Pi is the circumference divided by the diameter of a circle. Theta is the symbol of a circle and it's diameter. Such were the thoughts sprinting through the minds of the members of Pi Theta Pi when they formed the band on a high mountaintop in New Hampshire. To discover ways for human beings to bridge a gap from one side of the circle to the other - such is the purpose of Pi Theta Pi. After years of study and quiet, fastidious observation, Pi Theta Pi has come down from the mountain as men with a purpose. And starting in the city streets of Boston, MA, Pi Theta Pi will bring joy to all of humankind. DAN McGAW Dan McGaw is the guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for Pi Theta Pi. DOB: 9/18/1981 Music has been the center of Dan's life since age 14. Prior to that, it was important to him, but outside of dancing with a red plastic shovel (used as a guitar) to 'Burning Down the House' by the Talking Heads, or humming some Peter Gabriel song to himself while walking home from school, he didn't think about it all that much. At age 14, everything changed. It's said that everyone has that one hobby (or job) that they couldn't live without. Music, for Dan, is more than a hobby, and since discovering the majesty of the art-form, it has encompassed his whole life. 'Songs are stories,' he says, 'and all stories have a particular direction they must lead. There is nothing more rewarding than getting that perfect.' REV The Reverend: Bassist, Producer and general loud mouth (booking agent) of the group. DOB: 9/20/1981 Spawned when an Angel and a Demon mated, Reverend has been riding the line of good and evil his whole life. Rev being focused on noise and world domination finally found a combination of low tones (being destructive) and high tones (beautiful and creative) to be the perfect mix to world domination. The weapon of choice for this project was the 6-string Bass. With his bass, his collection of Horror Movies, his knowledge of Serial Killers, and a tendency to wear weird hats and costumes, Reverend was on his way to try to take over the Earth Realm. Once he met up with Dan and Justin they convinced him to go in to rock music instead. Finally returning from this trip, Reverend has found the beauty of chaos (Pi), and balance of the infinite (Theta.) Now, with his friends, he spreads his knowledge to the masses and curbs his plans for World Domination.....for now. JUSTIN MORSE: The hard hitting rocker behind the drums. DOB: 7/6/1981 Justin has been playing since he was fourteen. He plays a 7 piece Ludwig drum kit with both Sabian and Zildjian cymbals and uses Vic Firth sticks. Justin is self taught and his main influences are: Mitch Mitchell of Hendrix, John Bonham of Zeppelin, Alex Van Halen of Van Halen, and Lars Ulrich of Metallica. Justin has been in two bands, with Pi Theta Pi being his third. He was actually in his first band with Dan, as they grew up in the same town. The first few years on drums were really tough but Justin is extremely glad he stuck with it. After all these years, it has paid off and Justin is getting better with each performance. Now, he's ready to hit the road and show the world what rock 'n roll is all about. 'Rock in the last decade hasn't been the same, but PTP is going to bring it all back.'
