This is the second album in a three part history of early blues piano. This album features a little later style than the first, more of what later came to be called 'boogie woogie'. Blues piano is primarily a performance style rather than a compositional form. We have selected performances which show the diversity of playing styles and result in a CD that you can listen to over and over. The early piano blues from about 1909 until 1927 are virtually unknown today. This CD cronicles that time period with 13 different pianists performing rare early blues compositions. Many of these tunes have not been heard for nearly 80 years. This is a hi-quality recording. Pianomania released the first recordings of this type some years ago. Extensive notes to the music are included. These are hi-quality recordings performed by artists who excel at this style. Artists included are: Elliott Admas, Ray Skjelbred, Neville Dickie, Morton Gunnar Larsen, Sue Keller, Charley Booty, John Gill, Edythe Baker, Burns Davis, Molly Kaufman, Gale Foehner, Seger Ellis and Lemuel Fowler.
