I developed a tasted for synthesizer music, and Euro Beat specifically, while clubbing the Greek Isles during the summers throughout the 80's. It was there (but also throughout the Mediterranean sea resorts of Southern France, Italy and Spain) that one could experience dance music in a totally different way and associate that experience with external sights and smells, simply because most clubs were outdoors, under open skies (similar to Miami's bars and clubs down A1A, but without the inevitable rains). Since most clubs did not open until well past midnight and they were far from major cities, the start-studded night sky was simply stunning, adding to the overall experience. The pure, unadulterated sensation of listening to melodic dance beats, surrounded by palm trees, blowing wind, pools and patio bars, with a full moon reflecting on the sea surface, simply cannot be duplicated indoors, nor would it be worth trying. To fully appreciate the overall mood of the music in this release, picture yourself snowboarding or skiing virgin deep-powered trails, surfing giant waves on the North Shore of Oahu, driving at night the snow covered roads of Finland at high speed with the windows down, riding a dirt bike solo across the Tenere or Baja desert, or flying a glider through the Grand Canyon...
