Raised By Animals : As Nature Intended
Well, we could bang on about our influences (people like Jeff Buckley, Jellyfish, early Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Supergrass, Harry Connick, Chris Cornell, Ozomatli, Marvin Gaye, Queen, Kinks, Clutch, Rufus Wainwright, Gladys Knight, Fishbone, Billie Holiday, Glenn Hughes, King's X, Radiohead, The Tories, Ether, Etta James, Tower Of Power, blah, blah, blah); we could share with you the comparisons, but let's just say that we don't believe in the NME as a bible of popular culture, and as such we are free to play music that is just a little bit removed from our peers. Just the way we like it. The four members of Raised by Animals have all been reared to respect the tunage. Based around the writing talents of brothers Paul and Lee, with Roger and Franco (on bass and drums respectively), the band can slide greasily between raucous powerhouse and beautiful melancholy. The bands previous incarnation was dissolved after three years of blood, sweat n tears. Highlights included: recording with Paul Haden (Shed 7) and Robin Springall (Jamiroquai, Paul McCartney); gigging extensively throughout the UK; and reaching Number 1 in the Peoplesound Indie Rock chart. But that's history. And this is where it really starts.
