Since his teens, Randy Alan Motz has been involved in music, either as a performer or as a live sound engineer. The 1990's brought two momentous events that would forever change the course of his musical career. The first being a renewed Christian faith and the other was successfully completing training as a recording engineer. Taking a position at Omega Recording Studios as the Marketing Representative for Contemporary Christian and Gospel Artists married both his faith and his love for music. He then acquired additional certificates in both Music Business and MIDI /Synthesizers and served as Producer on numerous recording projects. This immersion in and renewed passion for music fostered a desire to write and record his own music but present it in a unique way. This songwriting genisis began after having attended two separate concerts. The first was a Yanni concert, where the powerful blending of a full orchestra, rock instrumentation and a multitude of ethnic stylings captured his creative imagination. The second was a concert by Robert Mirabal. So taken by the inter-weaving of Native American instruments with rock drums, electric guitar, bass and the lush sounds of an effects-laden cello, the die was now cast. The goal was to produce soothing and inspirational music that would blend these influences and would present a sonically lush orchestral environment for peaceful meditation and reflection with Native American instruments as the focal point. With this goal in mind, he purchased several flutes and, as he had done in the past with all his other instruments, taught himself to play. He then began writing, arranging and recording music that followed this newly discovered musical path. Using his skills on flute, keyboard, acoustic guitar and bass, in conjunction with digital recording processes and help from friends in the music industry, Mr. Motz has composed and arranged songs that he hopes will transform your spirit, touch your soul and relax your mind. These compositions are what his wife lovingly calls "soundtracks for your life". With each piece, you will find acoustic elements that will evoke a myriad of emotions; emotions that can easily be associated with those life events that forever stay within your soul; be they happy or sad, beautiful or, perhaps, unpleasant. The emotional canvas that these songs are painted on also creates the solitude and inspiration necessary to reflect upon the awesome power of The Creator and the eternal forgiveness, mercy and grace given to us by a God whose wonder is beyond human comprehension. These songs are inspired by a host of events and people; from his wife and family, to his faith and also as a result of the life altering adventure of thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2006 and experiencing, firsthand, the wonders of creation on a daily basis.
