Right Outside Your Window
I knew, even as a young boy, that I wanted to be an entertainer. I recall copying the likes of James Brown, Tom Jones & even Elvis. My first exposure to formal music training was in 9th grade school choir. I joined only because I didn't like the other electives. I learned a lot about what music is, and is not. Other than a few garage bands, I didn't really pursue music again until 1976. This was the year I became incarcerated. I was living in Texas, due to my parents divorce. Upon release from prison, I lived with a family that took me in & helped me get my feet back on the ground. In 1980, they moved to Minnesota to do missions work. I eventually followed in their footsteps and moved to Minnesota as well. We formed a quartet and ministered in Minnesota & the surrounding states. The quartet was comprised of Al & Jean Perkins, their son Tony and myself. Tony's parents became road weary and the quartet disbanded. Tony & I formed a band and carried on the tradition. We recorded several records and toured the mid-west region over the span of ten years. I decided to drop out of the band in 1990. My life took a lot of different twists and turns during the 1990's. It wasn't until 2000 that I finally answered the call of God and returned to the music ministry. In November of 2000 I began working on my debut CD. I received my first shipment in January, 2003. Praise God... The purpose of this ministry is to attract the unsaved to Jesus Christ, and to encourage the body of Christ to live victoriously for Him. I was delivered from drug and alcohol addiction. My road to redemption started in 1976 when I began serving a prison term in Texas. My addictions were the driving force that led me into a life of crime. I supported my habits by taking from others. The core message of this ministry is that addictions can be beat. The effects of drugs and alcohol touch thousands of lives each day. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our freedom from sin and addiction. Whether I minister to one, or to a thousand, my message is still the same - Jesus' love drove Him to give His life, so we might experience liberty from sin. This ministry is an extension of God's mercy. I believe I have a message that can encourage the saints of the Lord, as well as touch the lives of hurting people.
