Idling High is the culmination of two years of recording, mixing, and remixing within a six-member band with very different musical influences. Five songwriters and a bass-player have collaborated to make this one of the most eclectic albums to come out of Cincinnati since the Raisins were regionally popular in the 80s. Red Idle has it's roots in acoustic rock, walking a thin line between Americana, Blues and Alt-Country (we deny that last part.) Our journey has taken us from a mellow sound that can be heard on several of the songs on the album to the hard-driving rock sound that is most-likely our future. Reviews: 'The band's sound features a thickly textured mix of acoustic and electric guitars with a touch of flute. With three band members writing songs, these guys have plenty of stories to tell, such as lamenting a trip to Kentucky to that 'Mean Dry County,' or tales of lost love in 'I'm Still Waiting Here.' The band's versatile sound goes from spacey blues rock to bouncy acoustic stylings.' - Rick Bird, Cincinnati Post.
