Biography Rick Hiller was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and began studying guitar when he was ten years old. While growing up, he played guitar in various rock bands, playing professionally by age seventeen. He also played in jazz bands and accompanied choirs throughout junior high and high school. He graduated from the Musicians Institute - Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.), in Hollywood, California. Rick then played in various cover bands and original projects, crafting his own style on different musical works. His road experience ranges from Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Nevada and California. He is fluent in Metal, Rock, Blues, Contemporary, Jazz, Classical, Country and Southern Rock styles. Rick also taught guitar and bass for a number of years. He spent time as an apprentice/luthier and built his own signature series guitar, which is his main recording and performing instrument today. He uses Mesa Boogie/Marshall amplification and various FX. Rick has recorded in studios from Hawaii, Seattle and Tacoma, Washington and Los Angeles, California. In closing, Rick Hiller's CD 'Wisdom' covers many of these styles discussed above, and should be an enjoyable disc to any CD collection.
