I can remember making up songs when I was a kid. Just walking down the street, singing to myself. I'd be off in my own world, daydreaming. Little did I know it was the beginning of my career. I can remember my geometry nun telling my Mom, 'Sometimes your son is right on top of things, and other times he's a million miles away. Did you ever think about sending him to see a psychiatrist?' Thank God my Dad didn't like doctors. A shrink might've ruined me. Anyway, I've been making music all of my life, writing and producing music for radio and TV, playing bars, weddings, and opening for people like Kenny Rankin, and Livingston Taylor, all around the Mid West. I've been very fortunate to have a lot of talented friends who helped me make this CD. It started in a bedroom in my house and progressed to a studio to finish and mix. Even though I'm a songwriter, a lot of the material was written by Charles Grund, a friend and collaborator. Chuck and I started recording these songs, but unfortunately, he couldn't continue beyond the early stages. So, I took matters into my own hands, and with the help of many friends and collaborators, got it done. Currently, I'm working in a group called 'The Sloes'. We're finishing our first CD and hope to have it on 'CD Baby' by March. Most of the songs on the upcoming CD are written by me. The title will be 'Desperate Train'. My bandmates, Scott carnder and Stann Ginn, look forward to offering them to you. I couldn't have completed 'Thirst' without the support of the woman I'm married to, Peg, and to a lot of friends who 'kept the faith'. Thank you all for letting me be myself. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I enjoyed making it. Rick.
