RIOT COP, Little Beirut's Urban Political Street-Fighting Outfit, Is A Surf Punk Trio Straight Out Of Old Town District In PDX. Riot Cop First Began About 10 Years Ago, Pre WTO In Seattle. Each Member Is Highly Involved In The Radical Community Beyond Being In A Band (Organizing Anarchist Gatherings And Benefit Shows, Reclaiming The Streets, Creating Revolutionary Propaganda, Etc). Members Of Riot Cop have Included Former A.L.F. & E.L.F. (Animal Liberation Front / Earth Liberation Front) Press Officer Craig Rosebraugh, Pro-Skater Ethan Fowler (See Our Interview In Thrasher Magazine), And Our Current Drummer Who Is Formerly Of Detestation. Riot Cop Supports Human, Earth, And Animal Liberation--A Movement To End All Oppression. As A Result, The Band Has Gained A Strong Reputation (Especially Among Local Punks, Activists, And Police) For Walking It's Talk. Furthermore, Many Of Our Songs Are Inspired By Personal Experiences, Political Protests And Actions. For Example, In 'Bye Bye GI' We Describe One Protest Where We Were Marching Down Small Neighborhood Streets Filled Wth Huge Tanks Piled High With Riot Police. The President Was Having A Right-Wing Fund Raiser At The University Of Portland. The Small Streets Were Blocked With Barbed Wire Fences And Guarded By Riot Cop's. The People Referred To The President's Limo As A Hurse. At One Point During The Actions, A Revolutionary Soldier Was Yelling 'BYE BYE GI IN IRAQ YOUR GONNA DIE,' At A Pack Of Jeering Republican Frat Boys. We Stand In Solidarity With Our Allies And Comrades At Protests. We Stand Up Not To Change The World But To Save It, Those who Rush To Change The World Tend To Destroy It. Our Philosophy Is To Tred Lightly On The Environment So As Not To Leave A Trace. The Governments Of The World, However, Declare Never Ending War In Favor Of Their Own Elite Privilege, Legacy, and Profit. Therefore, Revolutionary Struggle Against Government Will Be Continuous Until The Institutions Of Authoritarian Hierarchy Have Been Abolished. As The Great Black Panther Fred Hampton Once Proclaimed With His Empowering Words, '... If We Don't Stop Fascism It'll Stop Us All.'
