You've Got Your Own
Nathan Amundson doesn't exactly turn into a bundle of joy when he gets his hands on an acoustic guitar. It must be because this world doesn't deserve such a depressive and beautiful melancholy, or because he's one of those who suffer childhood nostalgia, but the fact is that Rivulets - that's the name of his musical project - is composed basically of dusty bedroom folk music, despite being an artist of the best slowcore tradition and crafting his songs with a cool and careful ambience. Of course, it might have something to do with him coming from Alaska, a land that is not specially renowned for it's warmth, and with his friendship with Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker - two thirds of Low and also in charge of Chair Kickers' Union, Mr. Sparhawk's own label - since his eponymous Rivulets debut, released in 2002.
