What Has Remained
This artist (RMS) explores a style that's a defined crossover between soulful piano and pop music. The main focus of this CD lends itself to piano and voice, although there are a large variety of different instruments involved. Acoustic and distorted guitar, bass guitar, drums, vibes, trumpet, several different vocalists with varying styles, and an entire 4 part choir all take part in creating a solid 10 track album appropriately titled 'What Has Remained'. 'What Has Remained' touches on all the truest and most beautiful aspects of the human experience- from hope (Canon) to betrayal (Brothers on the Outside) to confusion (Bittersweet Lullaby) to the realization that even the best of things must come to end (Katie Don't Cry). To quote this artist, 'it is my belief that throughout our lives, these experiences will remain locked away in the heavens, in the brilliant stars above....so years from now, when I've gotten a little older, I will look into the stars and smile, for the shadows of my past will be there, dancing eternally in the vastness of infinity'. This point is illustrated further by Vincent Van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night', which is in fact imbedded onto the CD itself.
