With his eclectic mix of folk rock, alternative, and indie sounds, Rob Allen's music is a "...light alternative rock sound that is at once upbeat and introspective, filled with words of longing, questioning..." (Mita Pogue - grassrootsmusic.com). This son of the heartland has found his way into the soul of what it means to be alive on this planet. We all have shared experiences, those that touch us all on the most basic level, those things that bring us joy and those things that break our hearts, Rob Allen's music spreads the gambit of what it means to be alive...to live...to love...to lose...and to find the strength, somewhere, to carry on. In 2006, with his band Tintern Abbey, Rob debuted his first album Cavalcade. It was well received. Now, with the release of his sophomore, solo project, Desert Life, Rob continues his musical growth into adulthood. Desert Life is scheduled for release on Friday, March 16, with a concert to be held at Ontario High School in Mansfield, Ohio. Rob started his musical career in a very inauspicious way, with a stint playing drums for his brother's band at 13. From that early experience, Rob honed his new found love of all things musical and a lifelong affair with music was born. From the drums, Rob moved on to piano, guitar, and vocals. After mastering singing and playing, Rob took on new challenges and moved to writing and recording. He is not only the singer/songwriter of this project, but it's producer, as well.
