Stories from the Soul
\'The Song is the Star.\' A motto to live by in the world of Robbie Jason Hancock. \'The sooner you start treating your songs this way, the sooner you will realize your full potential as a musician.\' says the young singer/songwriter from Guelph Ontario Canada. Born in Kitchener and raised in Cambridge Ontario, Robbie has spent his life learning, practicing, performing and recording the organ, the drums and the guitar all over Canadian recitals stages and festivals. After drumming for two bands, The Mighty Fishermen and The Candidates which took him to such festivals as NXNE, The Tulip Festival, The Halifax Pop Explosion and Canadian Music Week Robbie was able to be a part of two national tours, one West and one East. Robbie has enjoyed success from two released CD\'s \'Superrock\' with The Fishermen and \'Meet the Candidates\' with The Candidates on an indy level. Reaching Top 50 Canadian Campus radio play with the Candidates and opening for such acts as The Skydiggers, 13 Engines, The Headstones, The Killjoys, Treble Charger and Danko Jones, Robbie has gained the experience necessary over the years to build and develop his own style and prowess. Being joined at festivals with the likes of Sloan, Pluto and Elliot Smith Robbie has also learned the ropes of what it is like to perform in front of large crowds as well as alongside some of Canada\'s top musical talents. After leaving The Candidates in 2000 and finding himself without a career he decided to embark on a cross Canada journey to find himself as a man and a musician. Wiping off the dust from his guitar and clearing his throat Robbie started singing and writing songs at a phenomenal rate. Always being a writer in his early years Robbie had finally found the instrument and tool he needed to create the songs that needed to come out his binder. After traveling and experiencing life and human beings all over the West Coast of this country Robbie was blessed enough to find support in recording and financing his first album in Red Deer and Calgary Alberta in 2006. After months and months of performing and working with several great musicians Robbie has honed and fine tuned his performance skills as a front man and as a solo artist and is ready to push his album and take on the world, one stage at a time. The 6 song MP3 CD holds a plethora of emotionally honest stories from his youth growing up into manhood and all the way through his travels all over Canada. With the angelic supporting background harmonies from Alberta native Michelle Joli to the intricate wizard like production and engineering from mastermind and owner of Firewave studios James Brachmann, Robbie has been able to bring to life songs that have needed to hear for a very long time. With his vocal performance and strum picking style of playing Robbie has piece together an album worthy of an honorable mention. If you love good writing and the emotion that is created by music then this is the purchase for you. Robbie says he is thanking you in advance for the possibility of sharing his music with you. Take care and God Bless...
