I've enjoyed singing for many years now, but recording a CD was not something I ever imagined doing. "Who would have thought that an old country boy like me would ever do this?" I was born & raised in rural Hamilton, MO-about 45 miles north of Kansas City, MO. I worked hard on our farm from the time I was 9 years old. I grew up listening to all the great gospel songs. When I reached my teen years, I started taking a real interest in music and some of my friends & I formed a little band named The Old Timers +1. Back then, I had never heard of most of the gospel songs we were singing. That didn't go too far. Singing was something that I really grew to love. Elvis, Dwight Yoakam, Conway Twitty, Randy Travis, and George Jones have always influenced my music. I waited about twenty years before I started singing again. I've got 5 beautiful children and they mean everything to me. During that 20 years, I worked hard to get the bills paid, keep food on the table, and clothes on everybody's back. The kids loved it when I sang to them or with them. There was always plenty of music in our home. In more recent years, I've been singing at weddings, funerals, festivals and other area events. Many family and friends have been urging me for sometime now to make a CD. People have said that my music touches them-isn't that what it's all about. I just wanted to bring a smile to somebody's face and help pull them through a rough day. People can play my CD on their way home from a hard days work and hopefully it will lift you spiritually. Music has always been a big part of my life. When you're down and out, heartbroken, etc., turn to music, it will lift your spirits and help you feel better. With the song "Stand By Me", remember that God is always standing by you through everything. The Lord has blessed me with this gift and in so many other ways and I want to give something back, by glorifying God with His music.
