Beyond Dead Skies
In the desert of Southern Arizona, Rusted Satellites are an anomaly. The band plays a mix of rock and metal which recalls the days of groove, clean, sincere vocals and dynamics. Another thing immediately noticeable is the lack of gimmicks, this band is about playing the music and not image, something hard to find in popular music today. This EP shows just what range the band is capable of. The opening track 'Hard Road' is a straight forward, Southern Rock leaning tune that makes you want to jump in your car, hit the highway, and never look back. Next your ears are treated to the sound of 'Believe', a hybrid of the ballad and the hard rock song, with a strong and heartfelt vocal performance, not to mention a very memorable chorus that gets stuck in your head. Last, but not least, the lean and hungry 'Go Away' is a short, jarring and far more aggressive track that ends abruptly as it begins, leaving the listener wanting to hear more from this band that plays out of the love of music and the song, and not for fame and fortune. This EP is a taste of the things to come and is recommended for those who want their music straight to the point.
