In Loving Memory
Ryan McFarland & The Moments of Clarity. In a world marked by chaos and frustration, people need to rise above and see clearly. Take a suggestion from the name of this band - drink deeply of their music, Melodicism and rhythmic savvy inform the textured performances of a band that finds the energy in acoustica and deliver it fresh to the listener's ears. Exploding Heads. No, this isn't a metal band (read the above again). You could say that McFarland and company have no choice but to create music. Music inspires such powerful feelings in them - it's the same feelings in which the audience revels whenever The Moments of Clarity's music is playing - that the only way to prevent critical mass is to channel those feelings out into music. "To quote Louis Armstrong," McFarland offers, "'If I told you, your head would explode.'" Emotion and Time Says McFarland, there are two major factors involved in creating top notch music. The passion of the thing has been discussed. But what else? Dedication. "Good music comes from the level of emotion and time the musicians put into it." If the passion's there and there's real commitment, then artists will devote their lives to their craft. Such is the case here. "I am constantly writing songs," McFarland says. "I compose at all hours of the day. I'll wake up in the middle of the night to write music. There have been a few situations where I've called up the band after midnight to work out new songs." The devotion is also evident in the performance area of the group's life; Ryan McFarland and the Moments of Clarity play constantly. Ultimately, all this hard work pays off, not only for the band but also for the listeners, who enjoy the music of a band that puts it's all into it's craft. The Artist at Work The Moments of Clarity are putting the final touches on their first full-length album. The CD 'In Loving Memory' will hit streets and blow fans' minds within the next month. The Moments of Clarity are McFarland, lead vocals, guitar, harmonics; Adam Turman, bass guitar; Nick Krol, keyboards; Brock Martin, lead guitar; and Ralphie Crescenzo, drums. The band is currently working with A&R Select, the hottest indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA. And one last message from McFarland: "This album is dedicated to Ben Schwarztman and Jason Specyal: long time friends and continuing source of inspiration.' "The layers of sound in The Moments of Clarity's music are entwined in an artistic revelry of love for music."
